Why Five Seed?

This name has multiple meanings for me. It came to me from the image of an apple. The apple said it all, for me: pure, natural, and simple. It is exactly what I aim for when it comes to beauty, and really, all aspects of my life.

Additionally, seeds are deeply symbolic, and I felt this was another perfect image for this business venture. Seeds are full of potential, and speak of all the things we hope to harvest. They are also miniature vessels of Divine Intelligence. Within each seed lies genetic information that perfectly unfolds with each stage of development. We don’t need to interfere with the growth of the seed – we only need to make sure it is nurtured and given a healthy environment in which to grow. The seed knows what to do all by itself.

The number five is also incredibly loaded with symbolism beyond its allusion to the apple. It relates to the five elements of feng shui (metal, earth, water, fire, and wood), the pentacle of the Goddess, the five wounds of Christ, and the five pillars of Islam, among many others. It is a mystical number that speaks of balance, Divine Intelligence, and symmetry.

When it comes to our bodies, we are no different than apples, or any other life force born of Mother Nature. We, too, sprang from a seed filled with Divine Intelligence. Our apples and other produce are sprayed with chemicals, then buffed with wax to make them “perfect,” more appealing to shoppers, and to extend their shelf life. Funnily enough, we are facing the same forces of toxic artificiality that want to impose their ideas of youth and beauty upon us.

I think it is time to take a hard look at our culture’s interpretation and implementation of beauty. Nothing made by Mother Nature (left to her own devices) is perfect. Yet, every imperfection has its own kind of beauty. And above all, Mother Nature’s creations don’t need to be sprayed and buffed and waxed. That is purely the imposition of the desires of humankind within this culture. Now imagine what it would be like to believe that YOU don’t need to be sprayed, buffed, and waxed. Can you imagine that freedom?

That’s what Five Seed aims for: Breaking down the cultural myths that our bodies need chemical intervention two or more times a day. Let’s get back to basics. Let’s let the Divine Intelligence shine from within. Let’s trust in our own imperfect beauty.
